No more struggling with limited playback functionality; no more waiting for packages to be ingested; no more guessing of correction values; no more hoping for acceptance on all servers and no need to book a cinema. The ARRIQCP offers a new dimension of quality control for digital cinema packages (DCPs).

The most outstanding feature of the ARRIQCP is its ability to playback DCPs directly to an HD or 2K monitor over dual HD-SDI or DVI without ingesting. This feature represents a previously missing link in DCP creation and will mean facilities can speed up their content checking significantly. Playback controls allow common playback features (such as Play/Reverse, Jog, Shuttle, Jump and Loop) in various playback modes (2K, 2K Sub-Res-Level from 4K, 3D, Left or Right from 3D).

In addition, the ARRIQCP offers a full set of test routines to check that the pictures and sound of digital cinema presentations comply with SMPTE and JPEG Interop standards for coding, packaging and DCP validation. The ARRIQCP performs content-analysing tasks and an overall check of encoding, packaging and file-integrity.

• Compositions can be played back with precise transport control. Functions like fast forward winding, fast backward winding, reel boundary playback with predefined pre-roll time, frame wise forward and rewind, and loop are possible.
• With the ARRIQCP one can playback compositions without link encryption over DVI-D or Dual Link HD-SDI in 2k. On 1920 x 1080 displays, the viewed image area (left, right or center) can be determined. A visible watermark is superimposed in the DVI output mode and in the plain text HD-SDI output mode.
• There is no need for ingesting DCPs because depending on the hard drive speed, DCPs can be played back directly from a removable hard disk in real-time without having to be ingested first. When utilizing the ARRIQCP with a fibre channel card DCPs can be played back from a SAN.
• The ARRIQCP can be used as a standard Digital Cinema Server using link encryption over Texas Instruments CineLink™.
• The ARRIQCP is capable of 48 frames per second (fps) playback for 3D presentations on Digital Cinema Projectors using polarizing or shutter glasses. It is possible to have left or right eye playback of 3D content at 24 fps when using the DVI output.
• A whole set of compliance tests can be performed while the degree of tests can be chosen by the user.
• Cue Points including comments can be set in the timeline. Comments can be exported into a XML file for communication purposes.
• Entry Points and duration values can be edited for quality control purposes and be exported in the Composition Playlist (CPL) format.
• Subtitles can be checked directly in the User Interface for correct timing.

ARRI does not take the responsibility for error-free playback of DCPs on other Digital Cinema Servers after successfully testing the DCPs. Error-free playback of DCPs on the ARRIQCP does not guarantee a playback on other servers. ARRI can not be called to account in case of nonworking DCPs. ARRI strictly tests the SMPTE and JPEG-Interop parameters. ARRI can not take the Digital Cinema Server implementations into account.
